Metro Chicago Register to Ring™
With more than 1,140 active Red Kettle locations, The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division in the Chicagoland area needed a simple, streamlined way to attract, schedule, coordinate and track volunteer bell ringers during the busy holiday season. Summit Marketing shared our tailored solution, Register to Ring™, a customized volunteer management software that helps Salvation Army staff manage their Kettle sites during the holidays, and enables volunteers to sign up themselves and stay informed.
Summit Marketing created a fully integrated marketing plan, focused on driving traffic to the Register to Ring site to encourage bell-ringing signups. We developed diverse and highly visible materials including transit advertising, posters and in-stadium displays to donors and volunteers. We also established a robust digital presence through contextual and digital display advertising, an extensive social media campaign and an email series sent to donors and volunteers.
Over the duration of the campaign, over 16.5 million impressions were delivered in just 3 months. The campaign helped recruit over 1,600 volunteers who worked over 6,502 total volunteer hours.

Commemorative Coin Fundraiser
To celebrate the 132nd anniversary of the founding of the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Summit Marketing created a commemorative coin program, and a promotion to sell the coins. Five Five-Star Generals from World War II were commemorated on the coins, which featured the likeness of George Marshall, Douglas MacArthur, Dwight Eisenhower, Henry “Hap” Arnold and Omar Bradley – five of our nation’s greatest leaders, and all alumni of the Army Command and General Staff College.
A portion of the proceeds from each coin purchased helps finance the Command and General Staff College. Summit Marketing crafted a compelling website, print ads and brochures that shared the stories of these legendary leaders and communicated the significance of the commemorative coins. These dynamic marketing efforts helped generate more than $1.8 million in profit for the CGSCF.

Introducing a National Brand Concept at the Local Level
Proctor and Gamble needed help introducing Tide Dry Cleaners to consumers in local markets with a corporate goal of bringing in $10,000 revenue at each grand opening. Additionally, they needed to communicate that each location was locally owned and operated.
Summit Marketing created a highly targeted, multi-channel promotional campaign for each store’s grand opening events, coordinated all the details and provided on-site management for each event. This campaign introduced the local owner of a Tide Dry Cleaners franchise to the community as its “mayor,” and clearly communicated points of differentiation that Tide Dry Cleaners provides to its customers.
Franchisees subsequently got off to a strong start by creating quality touch points with customers and prospects. The campaign met or exceeded each location’s $10,000 goal.
